    What is Kheer?

    Kheer is a very popular Indian dessert, equivalent to milk pudding. Most popular of them is chawal ki kheer (Rice and Milk Pudding). Rice is cooked in lots of milk with sugar till it is creamy. Then it is flavoured with cardamom, saffron and dry fruits.

    Kheer is known by different names in different regions of India as payesh, payasam, payasa, phirni, gil-e-firdaus and firni.

    Variety Of Kheer 

    There are a great variety of milk puddings/kheer recipes. You can replace rice with grains, fruits, vegetables, millets, quinoa, vermicelli  etc to make this rich, thick, creamy and delicious dessert. 

    You can make kheer, gluten-free, vegan, nut free if you have any dietary preferences or needs.
