Chaat Masala Kale chips are crunchy healthy and delicious snacks for your mid meal hunger pangs. I am really obsessed about kale chips these days, pair them with healthy yogurt dip and you have got no guilt crunchy snack that tastes sooo good on their own or serve the kale chips as a teatime snack or even with round of cool drinks in summer, these are sure to wow your friends and family.
Tea time rules my world If you follow my #IndiaLovesChai series on my Instagram you already know it how much I love it. And what's your evening tea if there is nothing crunchy, savory or sweet to accompany it. Given a choice every day I would love to dig into a crispy samosa or a brownie to go with it, but we all know where that would lead us, sigh!
So I try to experiment and make some healthy snacks to go with my evening tea. Now when I had few pretty pots of purple and green kale ready to be harvested what could have been a better choice than making crunchy kale chips. And I am going chaat masala crazy these days so I spiked up the taste quotient with Chaat masala and sumac only.
This is homegrown kale, can't really get over how gorgeous fresh kale looks, it's total swoon for fresh food lover like me.
How to Choose, Store and Use Kale
- Make sure to wash kale thoroughly to remove any dirt and dust, just like any other leafy vegetable.
- Remove the stalk and use just leafy part.
- If using it for salad, massage the kale with oil and salt to soften the kale leaves.
- If using it for chips make sure to pat dry the leaves to take out the excess moisture.
- Kale stores well in a cling film for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
Nutrition in Kale
Kale is called a superfood with a reason, it is a powerhouse of nutrition. 1 cup of kale contains only 33 calories and in that 3 grams of proteins, 2.5 grams of fiber, which makes it an excellent choice for diabetics. Other than these it’s extremely rich in iron, Vitamin A, C, Potassium and many antioxidants.
So doesn't it make sense to make it a part of your everyday diet? I am going to post many kale recipes in coming weeks. If you like to stay updated do subscribe to my newsletter { SignUp here} or any social media channels where I keep posting about latest food trends and food that we love.
