Tava pulao is popular, quick and easy rice recipe which can be made in 30 minutes. Actually leftover rice work best for this recipe. If you make it with leftover rice and vegetables chopped during meal prep it takes 10 minutes.

With flavours of pav bhaji, this street style pulao recipe is made with long grain rice. The other day I tried mixing pav bhaji and leftover basmati rice to make a sort pav bhaji pulao, but that did not work out so well. So, I suggest make this tawa pulao.

    What Is Tawa Pulao?

Tawa Pulao is the only street food in Mumbai that is as popular as the Mumbai’s Vada pao or the Pav Bhaji. If we talk about the term then you would be surprised to know that Pulao is the word that was actually originated in Persia. Tawa cooking is mainly a technique in which food is cooked on flat griddle on high flame on a flat griddle known as tawa.

A lot of mumbai street food recipes are cooked on tawa. Mumbai street food vendors cook pav bhaji on tawa. Most of the time they cook tawa pulao on the same tawa. So flavours of pav bhaji intensifies in this recipe. One difference is vegetables are cooked but remain crunchy in the pulao.

Cheesy Tawa Pulao is the perfect dish you can either have as an appetizer or a full-course meal. One of the best recipe for vegetarians that can be made quickly and cheesily! One of best fried rice recipe to make with leftover rice.
