    Ingredients

    • Bread: You may use any type of bread for this. But the best breads for making custard yogurt toast are sweeter with smooth texture because breads that have holes absorbs the custurd and does not become crisp. You can use white bread, milk bread or brioche.
    • Eggs: Use any good quality eggs
    • Greek Yogurt: Fresh Greek yogurt works in this recipe. Do not use regular curd that will taste sour in this custard toast.
    • Maple Syrup: or honey to sweeten the toast.
    • Cinnamon: For the comforting flavour.
    • Vanila: For flavour

    How to Make Custard Yogurt Toast

    • In a bowl add greek yogurt.
    • Break an egg and add vanilla and cinnamon.
    • Whisk to combine well to make smooth custard.
    • The custard is sweetened with maple syrup or honey.
    • Press the center of bread with a spoon to make a depression in the center.

    • Top with bluberries, raspberries or strawberries with chocolate chips.
    • Place it in pre-heat air frier and toast at 180C for 5 minutes.

    Toppings For Custard Toast?

    There are a variety of toppings you can choose from. Here are a few I have listed that you can experiment with.

    • Berries: raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries are some wonderful additions. 
    • Chocolates: white chocolates, dark chocolates, milk chocolate.
    • Fruits: peaches, apricots, bananas, apples are some range of fruits you can choose from.

    Instructions

    1. For making the tiktok viral custard toast, the Air fryer/oven should be preheated. Preheat to 180°C/350°F. 
    2. Prepare the custard mixture 
    3. Combine an egg, yogurt, and maple syrup in a small bowl. To make a liquid custard, combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. 
    4. Make the bread. 
    5. Press into the centre of the bread with your fingers or the back of a spoon or fork to indent and form a well without cutting through it.
    6. Fill the indented well with the custard mixture, then top with your toppings. 
    7. It's time to cook. 
    8. Cook for 4-5 minutes in an air fryer.
    9. Your viral tiktok yogurt toast is now ready.

    Some tips to keep in mind while making custard toast

    1. The softer the bread, the simpler it will be to create a well in the centre; nevertheless, you can use any bread you like. 
    2. Between 2 and 3 slices of bread can be made using the custard mixture. It all depends on the size and thickness of the bread you're using. I used two large slices of bread and still had enough custard mixture left over. 
    3. Make sure the custard mixture is properly whisked so it has the consistency of a runny smooth custard. There should be no egg clumps. 
    4. Because ovens and air fryers have various powers, keep an eye on the cooking time. 
    5. When done, the custard should be firm and beginning to caramelise around the edges.

    Recipe notes

    1. Vanilla essence, cinnamon, or nutmeg are optional additions to the custard.
    2. Powdered sugar may be used as a garnish to dress up your Custard Toast!

    Substitutions

    Bread: I have personally used multigrain bread but instead of that you can use any sort of bread you prefer- sourdough/milk bread/white bread/garlic breadSugar: I don't consider it necessary to add sugar to my custard yogurt toast because it's already sweet with the honey/maple syrup. But if you deem it necessary, go ahead and experiment with sugar of any kind be it brown sugar/white sugar/powdered sugar

    Variations

    • Sweet additions: Serve with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, or enjoy it with some powdered sugar.
    • Nuts: you can even top it off with range of nuts such as almonds /pistachios and spices such as cinnamon/nutmeg.

    Serving Suggestions

    Serve it for breakfast along with a side of Masala tea, cappuccino or cold coffee.

    Storage

    Custard toast doesn't keep well in the refrigerator so it's advised to make it fresh. Making it fresh is not that hard of a job since it takes only a few minutes using only a few stable ingredients. So make it when you crave it.

    • Air fryer

    Ingredients

    • 2 Bread slice
    • 1 egg
    • 3 tablespoon Greek yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey

    Toppings

    • 10 fresh Strawberries or raspberries
    • 10 bluberries
    • 10 g Dark chocolate chips

    Instructions

    • For making this Yogurt custard toast, preheat the air fryer or oven to 180°C/350°F.
    • Prepare the custard mixture
    • Combine an egg, yogurt, and maple syrup in a small bowl.
    • Whisk to make a smooth liquid custard,
    • Press into the centre of the bread with your fingers or the back of a spoon or fork to make an indentation and form a well without cutting through it.
    • Fill the indented well with the custard mixture, then top with your toppings.
    • Toast for 4-5 minutes in an air fryer.
    • If you are using an oven bake and toast for 7-8 minutes till bottom crisps.
    • Your yogurt toast is now ready to enjoy.
