Even though I don’t call myself a coffee person but one iced coffee per day is still what I and my family enjoy during the summers. So I make cold brew coffee concentrate and store it in the refrigerator every weekend along with my meal preparation and making coffee with this cold brew concentrate is very easy.
If you have cold brew concentrate ready with you can make both cold or hot coffee with this. For making iced coffee from the concentrate you just take out the required amount of concentrate and pour over ice add milk and sugar if you like it and it’s ready to serve. If you like frothy cold coffee you can blitz this in a blender jar or Nutribullet if you have it, or even simply vigorously shake it in any jar after closing the lid gives you frothy cold coffee.
If you want to make hot coffee with cold brew coffee concentrate it is very simple too. Just take out a portion of cold brew coffee concentrate add some more water heat it and add milk if you like.
If you love coffee and cannot refrain from having it more than twice a day, yet you have to prevent your body from situations like acid reflux or similar issues, cold brewing is what you must opt for your coffee. Here’s how you can make a perfect cold brew Coffee concentrate at home!
- To prepare your cold brew concentrate, you’ll need a jar small or large depending on the amount you are planning to make.
- Add 1 tablespoon ground coffee of your choice per cup coffee you want to make.
- Now add 1 cup of cold filtered water to it.
- Cover it and keep it aside for about 12 hours.
- In winters you can leave it on the counter and in warm weather I suggest keeping it refrigerator would make more sense. I kept the cold brew in the fridge.
- Now Strain it with a sieve or coffee filter if you have it.
- Place this dark liquid in a container, cover tightly and refrigerate or use it immediately.
- Most of the coffee grounds will sink to the bottom, you can add them to the compost or make a scrub with coffee grounds which is excellent for the skin 🙂
- If you make large quantities you can store the cold brew coffee concentrate for 2-3 weeks enjoy the coffee every day!
