A new week comes with so many things to do that I try to figure out the menu plan over the weekend and be tension free from that side of my daily chores. I am really overwhelmed with your responses for our last weekly menu plans, thank you, ladies, it is wonderful to know that I am of any help.
This week too like any other week I have tried to incorporate vegetables, pulses, proteins, and carbs in each of my dinner meal to provide proper nutrition to my family. Let’s begin.
Monday Dinner Plan
This combination of karele ki sabzi and langar wali dal is my all time favorite. Karelas is not loved by all and hence I prefer adding aloo which increases the quantity, taste and also can be served separately to people who do not like karela or bitter gourd.
Karela is good for health and in the season these days. Langar wali dal is a typical Punjabi dish and consist of flavor and nutrition of multiple dals together and goes very well with achari karela sabzi, roti, and some salad.
Tuesday Dinner Plan
Multani Choley, chawal, plain curd, Green salad
On Tuesday, it can be single curry which goes both with rice and roti. Multani choley is definitely on the card this week. Infused with aromatic and rich spices, and big on flavors this one is a must try curry but you need soaked chana to speed the cooking process and that was taken care over the weekend.
Wednesday Dinner Plan
I love mushrooms, they have this different earthy flavor and goes amazing with peas. Nowadays fresh peas are not available but you can use the frozen ones like I do these days. This curry doesn’t take much time to cook but can beat any rich paneer or chicken curry. It’s semi-dry curry so I will be making typical dal fry with it and serve with roti.
Thursday Dinner Plan
After 3 days of the week and a busy day, It is time to take it easy. Soya Keema curry made from soya granules are super easy to cook and taste amazing. They are rich in protein and can cook be in no time and with minimal ingredients at home. I like to add raita to my menu on days when I am serving a single curry and it turns out to be a complete meal.
Friday Dinner Plan
Kala chana pulao, papad, Spinach raita
Fridays are my happy days. We are so close to the end of a week and so close to weekends ;). One pot dinners make so much sense on Friday. One pot meals are easy to cook and there is no much hassle in serving and cleaning later.
One pot meals are easy to cook and there is no much hassle in serving and cleaning later. Kala chana pulao is one such vegan and gluten-free meal. It goes very well with some papad and raita and leaves me a lot of time to relax before and after cooking.
Saturday Dinner Plan
Butter chicken, Laccha paratha, sirka pyaz
Saturdays are mostly luxurious cooking days for me, I try to make something complex and restaurant style as I have time, energy and helping hands around. This week I am going to make Butter Chicken and Laccha paratha. I am using a slow cooker butter chicken recipe you can make it in a regular way too as well. I will be using the makhani gravy made on weekend to prepare this dish so that I can focus on my Laccha Parathas.
I will be using the makhani gravy made on weekend to prepare this dish so that I can focus on my Laccha Parathas. If you are a vegetarian you can make Paneer makhani using the same makhani gravy.
Sunday Dinner Plan
Egg Biryani, Cucumber Raita, and Bhuna Papad
As you must have noticed, Sundays are easy meal days and I am going to stick to my recent favorite One-pot meals.I am making egg biryani or anda biryani in Bengali style. Kolkata biryani is also lighter on spices and stomach too and tastes delicious with some raita.
