    Paneer or Indian Cottage Cheese is lip-smacking delicious and all-time favourite ingredient for Indian recipes. This fresh cheese which is easily available can be used in a variety of delicious dishes. Paneer is favourite to use in North Indian cuisine, but of late used in even many south Indian paneer recipes.

    It is made by curdling the hot milk with either lime juice or vinegar. When milk curdles it is separated into curds and whey. Curds are then strained in a cheesecloth, and whey is separated. whey is high in protein can be used in a variety of dishes. I mostly use the whey to make chapati/paratha dough. In most of these recipes, I use my homemade paneer. Here’s how to make paneer at home.

    There is something about fresh cottage cheese, that none of us can resist savouring its taste once in a while. Since it is made with milk, it is naturally loaded with calcium and is rich in proteins.

    A roll, a curry, a spicy dish or oh so yummy paratha, we love all of these Paneer recipes. That is indeed the magic of soft and creamy paneer. It is true that fresh cottage cheese works like magic in any of the recipes you choose.

    Just like any Indian family, we love paneer and I make it very frequently. When you make it for almost 2-3 times per week you try to make a variety of recipes. Other than popular paneer recipes like paneer butter masala or kadai paneer, I try to experiment with some new recipes too.

    Paneer is lacto-vegetarian and is widely used in Indian cuisine, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian cuisine. Not only in savoury recipes, chhena (a variant of paneer) is used to make sweet delicacies such as rasgulla or sandesh. Paneer ki kheer is absolute delight too.

    Paneer Bhurji Recipe

    This bhurji is quick, healthy and super easy to make. The recipe is the vegetarian version of egg bhurji so instead of scrambled eggs, use paneer.
