Desserts are must have on the menu in any party menu or festive menu. Even people who do not have so called sweet tooth plan for desserts on these two occasions.
From past few years I am not much into festive cooking or celebrating except for few charities and NGO’s I have been a part of, this year has been no different. We did few dishes and a cookout for a kid’s NGO and these two desserts were made. Quick, simple and fancy all at same time these desserts just takes just under 30 minutes to put together as you don’t really need to cook much. It’s easy because you just need to assemble the things and you are good to go.
There are so many fancy mithais available in the market but the taste of homemade is what wins over the people’s heart 🙂
So those of you who love to celebrate and eat and serve mithai here are two quick Diwali dessert ideas which look good and I am sure taste good enough to bring smiles on the faces of whoever eats them. You can make them in advance, keep them in refrigerator and serve it for a teen patti party or the visiting family and friends.
Base of both these desserts include kheer, in this case i used vermicelli kheer which is made with vermicelli or seviyan. Vermicelli kheer is layered with two different sweets which will give it entirely different flavour and texture profile. Serve them in fancy glass bowl or champagne flutes which makes it look more festive or grand.
You can even change the vermicelli kheer to any one of these delicious kheer recipes Apple and Thandai ki Kheer , Carrot Kheer, Sabudana Kheer, Paneer ki kheer and evergreen Chawal ki Kheer or this recipe of Rice kheer
