    Schezwan rice is spicy Chinese fried rice recipe made with Sichuan sauce. For making this fried rice recipe, rice is stir-fried with vegetables and Schezwan sauce. A perfect 20 minutes fried rice recipe for gravy. Best thing, you can make use of leftover rice.

    If you love fried rice or spicy food the Schezwan rice is perfect for you. We love Asian food, Indo chinese food is one of our favourite at home. It’s quick, It’s spicy all you need to do is throw in some vegetables, rice and few sauces. The best thing you have plateful of delicious fried rice in 20 minutes. Yes! thats the best thing about cooking schezwan fried rice is, its really better than the takeout.  Especially so when you believe in Meal prep in advance.

    You know how much I love to cook these 20 minutes meals. I am able to manage this mostly because one day per week I do the prep work. I always have chopped vegetables cut in various sizes to make stir fries, fried rice, Thai curry, noodles pasta. The possibilities are endless! If you still have not started meal planning or meal prepping Now is the right time to start it 🙂

    You can make schezwan sauce at home or use the ready made sauce. So, cooking dinners on weekdays even after a busy work day is a task I really don’t hate too much. Ok! Few day’s per month may be … But I have my frozen dinners to the rescue for those :). All fried rice recipes are actually so good and make super delicious quick meals. You can also try another favorite fried rice recipes, Fgg Fried Rice, Vegetable fried rice.

    Schezwan fried rice is spicy fried rice cooked along with lots of vegetables and a spicy hot sauce Schezwan sauce. You can make schezwan sauce at home or use the ready made sauce. We love spicy food and Indo chinese food a favourite at home. It’s quick, It’s spicy and it’s tasty and ready in 20 minutes. All you need is lots of vegetables and cooked rice for making this schezwan fried rice recipe. For me making such dishes is always more convenient than ordering a takeout as I always have these convenient chopped veggie boxes ready to go.

    Now enough of my smart cooking story, Lets get back Schezwan rice recipe. This is great tasting recipe comes together in a flash if you have ingredients ready. Most of the times I use leftover rice for the recipe, if you don’t have leftovers you can make it fresh too. That will require little long time than 20 minutes for full recipe though. But I am telling you, still totally worth it!

    Another bonus, You can similarly make schezwan noodles following exact same recipe of schezwan rice. Only thing that changes is instead of cooked rice you will add cooked noodles. Or you can double the ingredients other than rice, and save half of the batch to make schezwan noodles some other day. Also I have used left over rice for this recipe, If you are making fresh rice, short grain rice is best to make fried rice recipe.

    I mostly like to pair schezwan fried rice with the Sweet corn soup, Hot n sour veggie soup.  Sweet n Sour Vegetable which is our favorite Indo chines gravy tastes almost like heaven with this . If you like Indo Chinese food you might like to try these Indo Chinese Hakka noodles or Honey chilli potato .

    Ingredients

    • 2 Cups Cooked rice
    • 4 spring onions sliced
    • 2-3 spring onion greens for garnish
    • 1 carrot cut into juliennes
    • 5-6 french beans cut into juliennes
    • 5-6 Mushrooms sliced
    • ½ cup Bell Peppers cut into strips (mixed colors
    • For the Sauce!
    • 1 celery stick finely chopped
    • 1 teaspoon vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoon Oil
    • 1 tablespoon green chilli paste
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • Salt to taste

    Instructions

    • Take a wok or karahi add 2 tablespoon of oil and add sliced ginger and spring onion, cook them for about a minute.
    • Now add rest of the vegetables and stir fry on high heat for 3-4 minutes so that veggies are slightly brown on the sides.
    • Add soy sauce and schezwan sauce, also add rice vinegar to the wok and toss every thing well.
    • Taste and season it with required salt to your taste and add black pepper to your taste. Add cooked rice to the wok and toss them well.
    • Garnish the schezwan fried rice spring onion greens and serve hot.

      delicious Chinese fried rice! I haven't been able to make this dish without the help of spice mixes but they all have that extra Indian flavors to it which loses the authenticity. Thanks to you I tried making your recipe and I tasted just like the restaurants.
