June 2, 2021 by Rekha Kakkar Leave a Comment

A crispy spicy Indian bread snack recipe that you can enjoy as breakfast or snack. This is one of most delicious crispy evening snack with bread. Make this unique Upside Down bread sandwich pakora is a huge, upside-down, double-coated, triple-layer bread pakora without besan.

Unique Bread pakoda A bread snack

Many of you have requested for more Indian recipes with bread slices. I have shared many Indian style Bread snack recipes, like bread pakora, bread poha, cheesy bread pockets, paneer bread rolls etc. You can make these bread snacks for kids with leftover bread.

The bread snack recipe that I am sharing with you today is unique. This is a Club Sandwich Upside Down pakora. This is a huge, triple-layer bread pakora with an upside-down, double-coated layer to make this pakora an ultimate crispy treat.

This bread snack is a fusion recipe. A kind of stuffed aloo bread pakora without besan. What makes it unique is the way I make this pakora.  A lot of ingredients in this recipe were already stocked in my fridge with other meal preps. I just mixed a few of them from my fridge and pantry to  make this wonderful Potato and Bread snack.

This has slowly become our go-to snack when we are having fried food cravings. I have already shared aloo bread pakoda, paneer and sauce stuffed bread appetizers but this one is the most exciting.

It has a reverse make with the Aloo filling outside the bread! It is a little tricky to make, but the taste is totally worth the extra effort.

    Ingredients Required

Bread slices: Brown bread or white bread. Sandwich bread works better for this recipe.

    Potatoes: Boiled and mashed potatoes

    Tomatoes: Sliced into thin roundels.

Cheese slice: For making a cheesy layer in sandwich filling.

All Purpose Flour:To make batter for the coating

Rice Flour: Rice flour to add to pakora batter. Rice flour helps make this crispy snack.

Spices & Seasonings: Salt, red chilli flakes, mixed herbs seasoning

How To Make This Bread Snack Recipe

The filling for this Club style bread sandwich consists of seasoned fresh tomatoes and cheese. The Club sandwich bread sandwich is then covered with a layer of mashed spiced potatoes which is dipped in all purpose flour and rice flour batter. Rice flour makes this super crisp.

This becomes a giant puffed bread pakoda. The taste is ultimate but the steps are quite easy if you are willing to attempt. It is just like dipping an Italian sandwich in a batter and frying it but with an extra layer of tastiness.

    • Feel free to add any spices along with the mentioned ones.
    • You can use mozzarella cheese to pull-apart bread pakoda.
    • While deep frying keeps pouring hot oil on the top layer so that it does not leave the bread while flipping.
