As I said in my previous post, I will be posting few smoothie recipes which I am consuming as my lunch. Today I am sharing a high protein strawberry smoothie which is vegan too. As I said in my previous posts that smoothies are very filling meal you can make them with vegetables or fruits or even a combination of both.
Since I am avoiding dairy for this week so I wanted to make this smoothie vegan. To make it vegan you can use soy milk or Almond milk if that's available, which makes it even more, nutritious. I have used ready to use soy milk which is high in proteins, also to increase the protein content further I added protein powder for my son who is into lots of heavy physical activity. High protein is good for people who do lots of exercise for the repair of wear and tear of muscles.
This is the best way to use the strawberries which are in season now, otherwise you can make this with the frozen strawberries too. So if you are not adding protein powder all you require is just two ingredients, milk and strawberry for making this strawberry smoothie. If soy milk is not available just add normal skim milk that is OK too. I have not added any additional sweetener as I feel the quantity of strawberries I have used is sufficient to sweeten and flavour the milk.
Strawberry smoothie you make using the quantities I have mentioned with give you very thick smoothie which is quite filling and rather than drinking it literally has to be eaten with the spoon sometimes. I also love the crunch of seeds from strawberries. Do give this a try and Let me know how do you like it. Till now I am quite liking my smoothie lunches there is an incredible change in energy I feel which was primarily the reason I started this routine.
