Tips for BrewBetter beans= Greater coffee

Kick start your day with a delicious cup of self-brewed coffee. Well! this is easier said than done. Coffee addicts will know the struggle of failing to satisfy their need of some delectable, flavorful coffee. Brewing is an art and most of don’t do it very well. This is mostly because many of us lack the knowledge of and the correct technique of brewing. But what if I told you that you could satisfy your taste-buds and it is not even very hard. Just follow a few basic steps, keep in mind certain tips on how to brew the best coffee at home, and you’ve earned yourself a delightful cup of coffee at home.

They say that good ideas start with great coffee and a great cup of coffee comes from some good and freshly roasted coffee beans. So ever compromise on those! The most crucial factor in determining the taste of your cup are the beans so look for the roast date while purchasing beans and make sure it is not older than a month. You have cleared the first level to making a great cup of coffee.

    Store Coffee beans correctly

To keep your coffee away from rancidity and oxidation over time, store your coffee in an airtight container in a dark place and keep it as away as you can from the refrigerator. Your coffee beans hate air, heat, and light and keep them away from them and they’ll give you their best taste.

A good grinder is worth the investment

Try to grind your coffee yourself at home. This way you retain the freshness and maintain its taste and quality. Also, you need a consistent brew for a delicious cup and for that you need good ground coffee. So get a good burr grinder instead of the traditional one that gives you a consistent size. This is the next in line towards making an amazing coffee for yourself at home.

Coffee to water ratio- don’t miss out on this one

Pay close attention to your coffee to water ratio as this will determine how strong your coffee is. Check whatever suits your taste and stick to it while brewing your coffee.

A clean coffee filter goes a long way!

Make sure your filter is clean and do not forget to rinse it after every use. This is a ground rule to ensure the goodness of your coffee. Dirt hampers with the taste and ruins anything so make this a habit to keep your filter clean and always maintain a check on it before your brew yourself a cup.

Water - did you know this was important too?

Always boil the water that you need and let it sit for about 30 seconds before adding it to your beans. Also, keep in mind that you need clean and filtered water for your coffee to taste the best. You need to avoid hard or mineralized water which may lead to damaging your equipment. Acidic water may lead to excessively bitter brews. It is, therefore, essential that you use perfectly balanced water for an ideal pot of coffee.
