Which Cinnamon is Best Mainly there are two types of cinnamon that are available easily in the market. Cassia cinnamon and Ceylon cinnamon. Both have different tastes and look.
Ceylon Cinnamon: For making cinnamon tea Ceylon cinnamon is used. This is also known as “true” cinnamon. This is known for its medicinal properties and perfect cinnamon taste. Ceylon cinnamon has a light brown colour. The distinctive characteristic is these have multiple thin layers that are swirled inside.
Ceylon cinnamon is slightly more expensive than cassia cinnamon. In the container, it has a very mild flavour but once you add it to any dish its aroma is irresistible and flavours shine through.
Cassia Cinnamon: This is a common variety easily available in grocery stores. With their dark colour and thick single sheet, these look better than true cinnamon or Ceylon cinnamon. Cassia cinnamon has a strong flavour but is not as healthy as Ceylon cinnamon is.
