Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar optional
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds optional
  • Stevia optional, only if needed
  • No honey or sugar for a blood sugar friendly version

Instructions

  • Add warm water to a glass or mug.
  • Stir in lemon juice and cinnamon.
  • Add apple cider vinegar only if you tolerate it well.
  • Add chia seeds if using, and let the drink sit for 5–10 minutes.
  • Stir again and sip before breakfast or with a balanced breakfast.

Notes

Do not drink apple cider vinegar undiluted. Skip ACV if it causes acidity, reflux, nausea, or if your doctor has advised against it. If you take diabetes medication, check with your healthcare provider before using vinegar drinks regularly.
For a gentler version, skip the apple cider vinegar and make this with only warm water, lemon, and cinnamon. For a more filling drink, add chia seeds and allow them to bloom before drinking.
