Step 1: Prep the Cauliflower

  • Rinse the cauliflower thoroughly and pat it dry.Remove the leaves and trim off the thick core.Cut the cauliflower into large florets—the best way to cut cauliflower for cauliflower rice is to keep florets around 2–3 inches in size for easy handling.

Step 2: Grate the Cauliflower

  • Using a box grater, grate each floret on the medium or large holes. This is the foundation of your homemade cauliflower rice.Grate until you have a pile of fluffy “rice.” You now have cauliflower rice without a food processor in just a few minutes

Step 3: Remove Excess Moisture

  • Transfer the grated cauliflower to a clean kitchen towel.Gently press or twist the towel to remove extra water. This step is vital for preventing sogginess later on.
