A 3-ingredient Jillian Michaels gelatin trick recipe with unflavored gelatin, unsweetened cranberry juice, and raw apple cider vinegar. Under 60 calories per serving with 6 to 7 grams of protein, designed as a pre-meal habit for appetite control
1tablespoonunflavored gelatin powderKnox, Vital Proteins, or any brand
1/3cupunsweetened cranberry juice100% juice, no added sugar
1/2cuphot waternot boiling
1/2tablespoonraw apple cider vinegarwith the mother (Bragg's or similar)
1teaspoonlemon juiceoptional
Instructions
Step 1: Bloom the gelatin. Sprinkle gelatin over 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes spongy. This step prevents clumping and is essential for a smooth texture.
Step 2: Dissolve. Heat half a cup of water until hot but not boiling. Pour the hot water over the bloomed gelatin and whisk until fully dissolved and the liquid looks clear.
Step 3: Add juice and ACV. Stir in the unsweetened cranberry juice and apple cider vinegar. Mix well. Add lemon juice now if using.
Step 4: Drink or chill.
Option A (Warm drink): Sip it immediately as a warm pre-meal drink.
Option B (Cubes): Pour into silicone molds or a small glass container. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours until fully set. Cut into cubes.
Step 5: Consume 15 to 30 minutes before lunch or dinner for the best appetite control effect.
Notes
If ACV bothers your stomach, skip it and use my basic gelatin trick recipe instead.
For a sweeter version without ACV, try my Dr Oz pink gelatin recipe. Do not use boiling water. It breaks down gelatin's setting properties.
