Kanda Poha Recipe - How to Make Poha

Kanda poha is a popular Indian Vegetarian breakfast recipe. Flattened rice or pohe is cooked with onion, potato, curry leaves and spices to make healthy Maharashtrian breakfast.

- 300 g flattened rice pohe
- 1/2 cup onion chopped
- 1/2 cup potato
- 2 sprig curry leaves
- 2 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon green chilli chopped
- 1 tsp sugar powdered
- 2 tablespoon ghee
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds Rai
- 75 grams peanuts raw moongfali
- 2 tablespoon Sev
- 2 tablespoon Coriander Dhania chopped
- 2 tablespoon Coconut Nariyal grated
Wash pressed rice/beaten rice in a strainer under running water
Drain out excess water from the beaten rice. Keep them aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
When the mustard seeds start to splutter add peanuts and fry them for 2-3 minutes.
Now add chopped onion and Fry them for 2-3 minutes.
Add chopped green chillies and cook them for a minute.
Add salt to taste and turmeric powder Mix well.
Now add poha /flattened rice. Mix it well, but with gentle hands.
Add lemon juice followed by powdered sugar. Mix them lightly with poha and cook for few more minutes.
Finally garnish the hot plate of poha with sev, grated coconut and coriander leaves and serve hot with some masala chai.
