For making kanda poha or Kande pose, beaten rice (known as poha in Hindi) is cooked with a tadka/tempering of onion green chillies and mustard seeds and other spices. It is a simple Indian breakfast recipe but so hearty and flavourful.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g flattened rice pohe
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup potato
  • 2 sprig curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon green chilli chopped
  • 1 tsp sugar powdered
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds Rai
  • 75 grams peanuts raw moongfali
  • 2 tablespoon Sev
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Dhania chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut Nariyal grated

Instructions
 

  • Wash pressed rice/beaten rice in a strainer under running water
  • Drain out excess water from the beaten rice. Keep them aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • When the mustard seeds start to splutter add peanuts and fry them for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add chopped onion and Fry them for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add chopped green chillies and cook them for a minute.
  • Add salt to taste and turmeric powder Mix well.
  • Now add poha /flattened rice. Mix it well, but with gentle hands.
  • Add lemon juice followed by powdered sugar. Mix them lightly with poha and cook for few more minutes.
  • Finally garnish the hot plate of poha with sev, grated coconut and coriander leaves and serve hot with some masala chai.
