- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 2 cups Strawberries
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ¼ cup mint leaves
Extras
I like to add a few mint leaves and a few slices of lemon, strawberries to be used as a garnish.
Now to stir up lemonade, in a pitcher add sugar syrup, strawberry juice and fresh lemon juice along with a few crushed mint leaves or basil leaves as per your taste preference. Also add a few ice cubes and stir it with a stirrer.
Pour it in serving glasses and enjoy a cool strawberry lemonade to chill on a summer afternoon or as a pre-dinner drink.
Tips to Make Best Strawberry Lemonade
- It is a very forgiving recipe but by taking care of a few things you can make the best strawberry lemonade.
- Pick fresh, ripe and juicy strawberries. Frozen strawberries work okay but nothing compares to the taste of fresh strawberries when it comes to this refreshing summer drink.
- Only use frozen strawberries when fresh ones are not in season or not accessible easily. I use whole crushed strawberries but if a tiny seed bothers you you can strain the strawberry puree.
- This lemonade can be made without mint or basil but Mint adds a nice brightness to the lemonade.
- To extract maximum juice from lemons, roll whole lemons onto a flat surface before cutting and then extract the juice.
- You will get a good extra amount of lemon juice. A little bit of lemon zest will add more flavour to strawberry lemonade
