Ingredients
  

  • 1- inch ginger fresh
  • 1 cup water
  • 1- inch Turmeric Fresh turmeric cut into thin slices
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint for garnish
  • 1 tsp lemon for squeezing
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds

Instructions
 

  • Start by crushing the ginger using a pestle and mortar to release its natural oils and flavor.

  • In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.

  • Add the crushed ginger, fresh turmeric slices, fennel seeds and cinnamon powder into the boiling water.
    1- inch Turmeric, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • Let it all boil together for about 5 minutes, so the flavors can infuse.
  • Add several sprigs of fresh mint, letting it steep for a minute or so.
    1 tablespoon fresh mint
  • Strain the tea, then pour it into a cup.
    1 tsp lemon, 1 teaspoon honey
  • Squeeze a thin slice of lemon into your tea, and stir in honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • Mix everything well and serve hot!
