TL;DR – Quick Answer

Does pink salt break a fast? No. A ¼-teaspoon pinch (≈ 1.5 g) in 8 oz water has zero calories, so it keeps your fast intact while topping up lost electrolytes.

  • Zero macros → zero insulin response. Sodium and trace minerals don’t provide calories.
  • Electrolytes help adherence. Keeping sodium up can reduce dizziness, headaches, and cramps during fasting.
  • Not a complete electrolyte solution. For multi‑day fasts or heavy training, use a balanced electrolyte mix (with measured potassium & magnesium) under professional guidance.

Ice Pink Salt Recipe (Viral Trend, Fasting‑Safe Variant)

The “ice pink salt recipe” floating around TikTok is usually ice-cold water + pink salt + lemon/ACV. If you’re fasting and want to keep it very low/no calories:

  3. Allergy and Sensitivity: Rare, but some individuals could be sensitive to trace minerals.
  4. Consult a Professional: If you have specific health conditions—especially hypertension, kidney problems, or heart issues—consult a healthcare provider regarding sodium intake.

          Hi Ladies,
I found a recipe, I’ve since tried to locate again but can’t find it anywhere. I Copied it down the first time but then I went back to try and snip it and post it was gone. This is what I wrote down 8 ounces of water 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons of lemon juice quarter teaspoon of ground ginger quarter teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt mix it together and drink in the morning . Now I don’t know about you but when I drink it in the morning it appears to make me sweat through the day so I started drinking it at night so that when I wake up I can shower and feel fresh. I’ve lost about 20 lbs in 6 weeks, not what they are claiming, but I’ll take it!! I definitely see it in my cloths!!Hope this helps
