Sweet, spicy and absolutely delicious mango salsa recipe. Serve this refreshing mango salsa with Tortilla chips, top your tacos, serve as a salad or enjoy as I did. I served it with Monaco crackers and it was a bomb dot com.

One mango recipe that I can make and eat every day is this mango salsa with tajin flavours. The classic salsa is made with ripe mangoes, avocado, and jalapeño and spiced up with Tajin, a Mexican spice blend.

Ingredients

Mango: Use only ripe and sweet mangoes for this recipe. Raw mangoes do not work in this recipe. I use Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes or regular safeda mango and both taste nice.

Avocado: Avocado balances the sharpness of the mangoes and adds umami to the dish.

Jalapeño: For the spicy kick. You can remove the seed and chop it if you like it less spicy. But if you like spicy mango salsa do not remove the seeds. (or 1 green chilli)

Lime juice

Cilantro

Tajin Spice: Chilli lime dressing

What to pair mango salsa with?

You can pair it with any Mexican dish or serve it as a side salad. I top it on everything from toasted bread, Tacos, Burritos, in sandwich fillings or even grilled paneer steak tastes fabulous with mango salsa on top of it. It also pairs well with Mexican rice, grilled meats etc.

How do you spice up mango salsa?

If you like your mango salsa extra spicy use jalapeño chilli with seeds and add tajin spice mix which adds a unique chilli lime kick to the dish.

In case you do not have Tajin spice mix you can either make your own or maybe substitute Tajin with cayenne pepper.

Variation:

You can add chopped red onions which are a very common addition. Also if you like you can add black beans.

To Prepare Mango salsa:

  1. In a bowl combine diced mango, avocados, chopped jalapeno peppers, chopped cilantro, lime juice and tajin spice mix.
  2. Give it a taste. Now you can adjust salt or lime juice. In case you find it too spicy you can add a pinch of sugar or honey.
  3. If mangoes used are sweet ones mostly there is no need for extra sugar. But for the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, you can adjust as per your liking.
