    Why We Love this Recipe

We love mangos and everything mango is delicious!

It's easy to make and the recipe is quite simple

Quick recipe prepared with minimal ingredients

Real fruit is used and no artificial flavouring. That makes it better than store bought.

    Ingredients

Mango Puree: You can pretty much use any of your favourite mangos to make this burfi. Just make sure the mangoes are perfectly ripe and sweet. Chop mangoes after peeling them and puree the pulp in the blender.

Sugar: Regular sugar. Jaggery or brown sugar does not give the same taste so use regular white sugar.

Ghee: Vey small amount is needed.

Milk powder: Make sure to use milk powder. Dairy whitener is not the exact same thing.

Desiccated coconut: Dried and desiccated coconut to give the burfi a structure and a coconut and mango combination is the best!

Cardamom powder: For the flavour is a must.

Additionally, you can use saffron for the flavour.

    How to Make it?

    1. To make mango burfi, in a pan add ghee.
    2. Now add mango puree and sugar. Cook this mixture for a few minutes till sugar melts completely and the mixture starts to thicken.
    3. Now add desiccated coconut milk powder and cardamom powder.
    4. With a spatula and give it a good mix and cook for another few minutes till the mixture is completely well blended and thick.
    5. Now Grease a plate and using a spatula flatten it into a layer.
    6. Garnish with chopped pistachio and allow to set and cool down.
    7. Cut into desired shapes and sizes and enjoy!

Which Mango to Use for this Recipe?

You can pretty much use any of your favourite mangos to make this burfi. Just make sure the mangoes are perfectly ripe and sweet.

Can You make Mango burfi in the microwave?

To make mango burfi in the microwave. In a microwave-safe dish add mango puree, sugar, desiccated coconut, sugar, milk powder, cardamom powder, and ghee and give it a good mix. Microwave it on medium for 3-4 minutes and stir it once.

Now place the dish back into the microwave and microwave it for another 4 minutes.

Now Grease a plate and using a spatula flatten it into a layer.

Garnish with chopped pistachio and allow to set and cool down.

Cut into desired shapes and sizes and enjoy!

Mango burfee with Canned Mango Puree

You can use canned mango puree if fresh mangoes are not in the season.

If you are using canned mango puree check the amount of sugar it already has and adjust the amount of sugar you are adding as per that.

Adding ghee adds to the taste

    Storage Suggestions

Mango Burfi can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days.
