This quick and super spicy ramen is perfectly spiced with soy and garlic flavour and tastes like restaurant-style ramen. You can top them with your choice of toppings, crispy fried mushrooms, chicken or jammy soft boiled eggs this ramen dish is perfect comfort food.

A dish that looks like a fancy restaurant-style meal but can be made with pre-packaged instant noodles like (Samyang spicy noodles). That makes it one of our favourite quick meal options and a top spicy Ramen upgrade!

Why This Recipe is so good

    • It is quick and super easy to make.
    • Tastes like restaurant-style ramen.
    • To make this spicy ramen all traditional Asian ingredients are easily available at home. If you do not have it at home these can be easily found at any supermarket or Asian store.
    • You can customize these noodles by using different toppings. Tofu, soft boiled eggs, shiitake mushrooms, crispy fried mushrooms use any of these to take your spicy ramen to the next level.
    • You can use Instant noodles or use rice noodles(gluten-free option) totally up to you.
    • It is a budget-friendly recipe to satisfy your sudden noodle cravings.
    • This recipe needs just 10 ingredients and is so easy to make!

Ingredients Required To Make Spicy Cabbage Ramen

    Cabbage: Simple thinly sliced cabbage

Broccoli stalks: You can use either bok choy or bell peppers if you want.

Garlic: for flavour. You can make it without garlic or substitute garlic with minced ginger.

    Jaggery or brown sugar

Green Onion: I use green onion stalks for flavour.

Sauces: Chili sauce, black pepper sauce, chilli paste, Soy sauce, rice vinegar

Oil: peanut oil or sesame oil

Noodles: Instant spicy ramen noodles or rice noodles. You can use gluten-free noodles as well. I like to use Samyang spicy noodles for this sometimes. To make super spicy and hot ramen use Samyang 2x spicy noodles. This dish turns out well with any of these.

How To Make Spicy Ramen Noodles

    With Cabbage in 20 Minutes

Cooking Noodles: First cook ramen/noodles as per pack direction. Skip the seasoning if you are using instant noodles.

Cooking Vegetables: The next step is cooking cabbage. You need to slowly caramelize the cabbage along with jaggery and cook broccoli stalks. Heat oil in a pan on high heat and add thinly sliced cabbage and cook for a few minutes.

Assembling Ramen and Vegetables: Add sauces one by one and then add cooked noodles mix and enjoy.

    • While cooking cabbage and caramelising it make sure to maintain heat medium and keep it stirring. Do not burn the cabbage but cook it nicely with sugar.
    • Top it with your favourite toppings, crispy tofu, grilled chicken, soft boiled eggs etc.
    • You can make a vegan ramen bowl by skipping boiled eggs.
    • To make extra hot and spicy ramen use 2x spicy ramen noodles from Samyang.

    Variations of Spicy Ramen Noodles

Vegetable Spicy Ramen: In this recipe, I have used cabbage and broccoli stalks. You can use any vegetable of your choice like bell peppers, mushrooms, bok choi. You can also use tofu and miso paste which gives ramen an umami flavour.

Chicken Spicy Ramen: Instead of vegetables add either grilled chicken or cook chicken like I did vegetables you can easily make chicken spicy ramen that way.

Seafood Spicy Ramen: Instead of vegetables or chicken you can make this spicy ramen recipe with seafood very easily.

This Spicy Ramen is so delicious and very flavorful! I used Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Chili Sauce and Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce that I bought from Karman Foods. It's perfect!
