Ooey gooey chocolate french toasts with just the right amount of buttery smoothness, chocolatey sweetness, and creamy richness. These are an ideal breakfast or dessert for breakfast. Here’s one of the easy and best Chocolate french toast recipe for the holiday season

French toast is a perfect breakfast recipe for the holidays. If you're looking for a no-bake, mouthwatering chocolate indulgence, then these layers of buttery crispness are the Best.

There's just enough fudge to fulfil a chocolatey appetite without making this an unsuitable weekend breakfast. This Chocolate French toast with fresh berries and maple syrup is one of my favourites.

We absolutely adore the person who came up with the idea for French toast. While you can never go wrong with a classic French toast and a cup of coffee in the morning, there's a lot of space for innovation and customisation to satisfy the sweet tooth we usually get when we wake up early and need to indulge on weekends or in the festive season.

This recipe of decadent chocolate delight will get you up on your feet in no time and leave you hankering for more. Keeping in mind the diets, the smooth and crispy chocolate french toast could be made diet-friendly by switching a few ingredients like the choice of bread and chocolate.

I have included the variations for this recipe for all those who would love to keep their fitness in check.

So what are you waiting for? Try out this easy no-bake butter filled chocolate french toast and don't forget to share it with your friends and fam this Christmas.

Why We Love This Chocolate French Toast Recipe?

    • Indulgent breakfast in 10 minutes.
    • Minimal Ingredients required.
    • Perfect to satisfy your chocolate cravings and dessert cravings.
    • You can serve it for breakfast or dessert.

    Ingredients

    • Eggs : Use free range organic eggs for best results. You can use regular eggs too but free range organic eggs is healthier option.
    • Bread- Brown bread/White bread/ Oas bread/ Milk bread/ or any other bread
    • Sugar- you can go for brown sugar/coconut sugar/white sugar/or no sugar at all
    • Milk: 1% milk or full fat milk as per your choice.
    • Cinnamon
    • Chocolate fudge spread
    • Butter
    • Honey- I am using maple syrup to serve but you can even go for honey or whipped cream if you wish to.

See the recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

    1. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon together. Keep whisking until you form a smooth mixture with well combined ingredients.
    2. Keep the bowl aside, and layer your slices of bread with a decent amount of chocolate fudge.
    3. Put on the flame and place a pan on medium heat. Spread the pan with a good amount of butter.
    4. Now, dip your chocolate covered bread into the bowl where you combine eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon.
    1. Place the egg coated bread on the pan. Cook the toasts on both edges until nicely golden browned. Confectioners' sugar is sprinkled on top.
    2. Chocolate filled french toast is ready.
    3. Now, slice the french toasts into pieces and dribble a handsome amount of honey or maple syrup to serve. Top it off with slices of banana and you have it. Take a bite and wait for the chocolate to melt in your mouth.

    Substitutions

To make it diet-friendly. You can definitely switch the following ingredients with the healthier versions. If you know how to make the recipe fit a certain diet, let the reader know here. Don't fake it - only provide guidance on topics you have actual experience with.

    • Bread- I used white bread but feel free to use Brown bread/ Oats bread/ multigrain bread
    • Sugar- Instead of regular refined white sugar, you can go for brown sugar/coconut sugar/ or no sugar at all and count the sweetness from chocolate and honey.
    • Milk- For milk you have variety of options available, you can opt for full fat milk/almond milk/oats milk/skimmed milk/soy milk
    • Honey- Instead of honey, you can use maple syrup or corn syrup

    Variations

    • A lot of people love to eat banana bread, if you're one of those people then you can always add a layer of mashed banana onto the chocolate fudge. This way you can even eliminate the excessive refined sugar because would give the same amount of sweetness
    • If you don't want the unnecessary calories from the butter, there's a way to make the same chocolate french toast but with olive oil. Olive oil is one of the healthiest oils and is considered a good option if you're looking to lose weight and diet.
    • If you're gluten intolerant, the bread could be replaced with ragi or millet bread and the recipe would remain the same.

    Recipe Notes

    • The secret to a perfect French toast is the crisp on the exterior  and a soft fluffiness in the interior.
    • Using  both butter and vegetable oil to cook French Toast ensures that it is properly crisp and caramelised at the edges, with a deep buttery flavour.
    • It permits the toast to crisp on the exterior while keeping the interior soft, fluffy, and almost custardy.
    • To me, that's the epitome of French toast excellence! And when the chocolate is added it tastes just like pure heaven.
    • As I mentioned earlier, the perfect French toast entails crispiness on the outside and a fluffiness inside. To achieve that make sure to keep the pan on low to medium flame.

    Serving Suggestions

I love to serve these buttery delights with a layer of fruits and honey. But there's always room for customization.

Cut it from the middle into two pieces and sprinkle powdered sugar and honey. To top it off, you can go for tiny slices of banana or berries.

    Top Tip

Because of the chocolate and sugar in the egg mixture, as well as the heated oil, it can quickly go from perfect to scorched. Make sure you keep an eye on Chocolate French Toast while it cooks.

    Storage

Store the french toast in an airtight container and place it in the fridge. It stays good for 2-3 days

When eating, heat it in a pan on low flame.

These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
