Imagine the surprise on your child’s face when you tell them that you made the same recipe which Joey Tribbiani made in one of the episodes of FRIENDS while referring it as “eggs with the bread with the hole in the middle, à la me”or the one prepared by Hugo weaving in V for Vendetta. Yes, you can make the same delicious recipe by following our instructions below.
While making this breakfast sandwich we decided to wear our “experimental hat” on and hence added a twist to the regular recipe. Instead of making the regular egg in the hole recipe , we decided to make this egg in hole grilled cheese with tomatoes .
The process is really pretty simple and quick. We made it by first making a hole in a slice of bread and toasting its one side with butter while adding the egg on top of it. We then took the sunny-side up of the bread, carefully out of the pan and replaced it with another bread slice (we didn’t make a hole in it since it is a sandwich).
Later we added our favorite cheese, some juicy round-cut tomatoes, black pepper and some parsley. Add the egg side back, flipped and toasted it and voila our delicious recipe was ready. The best part about this sandwich apart from the egg and the cheese is the fact that one can easily replace the ingredients of the sandwich with the ones of their choice.
You can add your favorite veggies/ pickles in the mix and gobble down this yummy egg sandwich super quick! You can also spread some mayonnaise in them too. We weren’t kidding when we said that you can add whatever you want and exclude the things you don’t.
The only catch is here is to control the heat while cooking to prevent the burning of the egg or the bread. One should be very careful while toasting the bread.
